Outfits of the week - Post-pregnancy
Now that I'm two months postpartum, I'm finally starting to feel a bit more comfortable in my non-maternity clothes. Although I still prefer to wear leggings and a nursing cami every day, I'm trying to make more of an effort to look like a human being who sleeps more than 6 hours a night. And in honor of Valentine's Day, this week I tried to incorporate a little red each day.
My favorite accessory these days is our stroller. Since we received most of our baby clothes and nursery furniture as gifts or second-hand, this was the one item we splurged on. We went with the Cybex Priam (in red of course!) and I LOVE it. Considering we walk pretty much everywhere here, I use it daily. It's also doubling as Baby's bed each night for these first few months until she moves into a crib in her own room. It matched my red skirt perfectly and these burgundy Hunter boots are great for the wet weather we've been having.
Even though we didn't go out for Valentine's Day (hello Baby!), I did prepare us a nice dinner (also themed red: salmon, sweet potato, pomegranate salad and red wine) and dressed up. I wore this new Banana Republic grey ruffle top with J.Crew jeggings and my fave red LK Bennett heels that I got for my birthday last year. Even though we were stuck at home, it was still really nice to dress up and enjoy a nice meal...and Baby was happy to sit in her bouncy chair and stare in the mirror.
I love a fun patterned cardigan. I layered this black J.Crew embroidered cardigan over a red H & M button down and gingham print shoes. No, the shoes aren't very practical with the weather we're having, but they are on sale!
This red striped top is actually a nursing top from Seraphine, which I wore during pregnancy as well. It buttons down at the shoulder for easy feeding and is long enough to cover mum-tum. This Kate Spade flower-print scarf was a gift I received a few years ago and I love these berry-colored slip-ons.
Finally, my go-to Zella live-in leggings (high waisted is perfect for post-pregnancy), which I literally do live in. This Kuhl fleece top is perfect for winter days (I also have it in Stone color) and these bright salmon ON shoes are the latest in my growing collection. I've been trying to get an hour walk in every morning with Baby, so I pretty much start the day with this outfit and then change (or not). I look forward to when I can really start exercising again, but for now daily walks are good enough!
