Outfits of the week: maternity style
Slowly, but surely, I'm getting fatter. Luckily, it's a cute little baby causing my belly to expand, rather than too many cookies (or maybe a combination of both). Either way, at almost 20 weeks pregnant, I've had to get a little creative with my outfits.
To save money, I'm trying to wear my existing clothes for as long as possible, but it's getting harder. Pants are definitely tight and certain blouses just don't button anymore. Here's a look at my attempt to stay stylish with a growing baby bump.
This floral Coast dress is actually almost five years old, but I love the bright pink. It's not maternity and was pretty darn tight across my ribs this week, so I probably won't be wearing it again this summer! It was perfect for a mid-week date night by the lake though!
These green fatigue shorts were one of my first maternity purchases. Gotta love an elastic waist. The gingham top is not maternity, but flowy enough for now. And I love these new blue/white twist-tie striped shoes!
Mint green with silver polka dots! Yes, it's maternity, but nice and fitted. A lot of maternity tops just feel like bags. For the weekend, this was a perfect top paired with my go-to Zella black leggings...and of course my fave Steve Madden sneakers.
Last, this jungle-print Karen Millen dress has also been in my closet for years (I got it in Barcelona!), but its stretchy scuba fabric is perfect for an expanding belly. I plan on wearing this quite a bit this summer, since it's so super comfy!
