Birthday champagne cupcakes!
Holy moly, it's my birthday! I swear I just turned 25 last year, so I'm not sure how another decade has passed in the blink of an eye. Either way, I actually like getting older. I've always been someone who prefers a quiet dinner party to a wild night out on the town. And my bed time gets closer to 9pm every year. The older I get the more accepted this is and the less I have to act like I'm having fun when I'd rather just be at home reading a book. I've always been about 75 at heart, so I'm just slowly catching up ;-)
This birthday was particularly low-key. Last night, Warren took me out for a fantastic dinner at Bam Bou, one of my favorites in Luzern. We both love good food and good wine, so splurging on a romantic dinner is the best. They have new owners and a new menu, but it was just as excellent. And today I was able to sleep in, have breakfast in bed and open an unnecessarily huge amount of presents (Warren's love language is definitely giving gifts). I'm one lucky girl!
Of course I also spent the weekend baking. If I'm not reading, then I'm baking. My co-workers are in for a treat tomorrow, since I made these delicious, gluten-free champagne cupcakes from PaleOMG. This was the first time I've made them and I'm already trying to find the next occasion to make them again. How can you go wrong with a champagne cupcake?! You can't!!
